Welcome to the about Atlantic Engineering Group (AEG) page.

AEG is an International engineering and construction firm specializing in designing and building fiber optic networks for municipalities, municipal utilities and other utility projects similar to the Salisbury Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network.  To date AEG has built over 65 municipal projects and 17 FTTH city or county wide projects.   The AEG corporate offices are about 3 hour’s south of Salisbury in Braselton Georgia.  We currently have projects all over the United States, the Caribbean and Bermuda.  AEG is delighted to serve the citizens of the City of Salisbury during this exciting project.

AEG has adopted a logical phased approach to the Salisbury deployment.  The method that is followed has been developed over many years of experience with similar projects.  First the field engineering division goes around town and evaluates the routes, where to place the fiber aggregation points (LCP cabinets), what is required to prepare the ground or the poles for the fiber and decides what houses or businesses go to what fiber cabinet.  These are the trucks you see around town with their bumper up against a pole while the GPS locates every item on the pole.  Then the Corporate engineering department does the detail design for that area, Salisbury approves it and we move on to construction.  Our construction will consist of two divisions, aerial and underground.  I am sure you have already seen the underground crews placing conduit in the ground around town and the first week of July we are scheduled to begin construction using the existing Duke Energy and a few AT&T poles.   By using this phased approach each area of town will have crews in their areas mostly all at once so that disruptions can be minimized.  Construction by its nature is visible and we do everything possible to reduce the impact on homeowners and businesses.    Our crews and trucks all have the Atlantic logo so if you see a truck or employee that is not identified in that way, they probably work for a cable TV company or the telephone company who are also working in town.

I will be updating this page and adding information as we progress.  Questions or comments can be sent directly to me at mparr@aeg.cc or you can reach our local office at (704)  637-5378.

Various AEG folks are attending and sponsoring functions around town and I look forward to meeting some of you there.
